Library

Having a Library in our school offers a multitude of benefits for both students and the entire school community. Having a library promotes literacy. A library is a hub of learning, encouraging a love for reading from a young age. Access to a variety of books and reading materials fosters strong reading skills and a lifelong passion for learning. Encouraging independent reading and research in a library environment enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills as students explore new ideas and concepts. Our library offers a diverse collection of books, including those that celebrate various cultures, backgrounds and experiences. This promotes cultural awareness and empathy among students. Our librarian, Mrs. Dossie, teaches students valuable literacy skills, including how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively in an age of digital media. Our library has digital resources, promoting digital literacy and preparing students for a technology-driven world. Mrs. Dossie hosts storytelling sessions, book clubs, and other events that encourage social interaction and emotional development. This helps to build relationships and self-confidence.
