Early Intervention
Pre- K, Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade
Pre-K Students will:
• Practice socialization with each other in play, eating, and story time. 
• Familiarize basic ideas of routine and rituals. 
• Engage with one another, learn to listen to each other, as well as to their 
teacher. 
• Practice resting quietly during relaxation time.
 
Kindergarten Students will:
• Choose Centers based on independent interests.
• Socialize with each other during Center Time.
• Listen during story time and verbally answer questions.
• Introduction to story elements such as characters and sequencing.

1st Grade
• Review alphabet letter recognition as well as phonemic awareness with 
letter sounds.
• Recognize numbers 1-20. 
• Work individually as well as in small groups to assess and strengthen 
struggling students, on level students, as well as student’s who are above 
average. 
 
2nd Grade
• Assess independent reading levels based on student’s personal interests, 
reading capabilities, and reading comprehension. 
• This will determine grouping for Guided Reading as well as the student’s 
independent reading level.
